For more information, including a tutorial video on how to work with Advanced Mode, check out the Custom Pet Markings section. Further, you can click the “Advanced Mode” button to work with individual markings or using totally unrealistic colors. After clicking on the button, you’ll see a list of coat patterns similar to the Breeds panel, and can click any of them to quickly paint your new pet with a premade pattern. The third button opens up the “Coats” panel, and that’s where things get interesting. Note that if you’re creating a dog, this panel allows you to select whether you’re working with a large dog or a small dog. The second panel is the “Breeds” panel, which allows you to quickly select a breed’s characteristics: not just the coat and markings design, but also fur length, body sizes, and so on. ![]() ![]() You can’t make babies-no foals, kittens, or puppies-but you can set whether the pet is an adult or an elder. ![]() The first button opens the “Basics” panel, which allows you to set your pet’s name and, if you’re in Create A Sim, age. When you first enter the screen, you’ll see a series of six buttons vertically down from the top-left corner, similar to making human Sims, though with different options.
